Our goal is to provide our guests with the amenities needed to experience the quintessential up north vacation getaway for you and your family. We promise the kids won’t be bored at Sleeping Bear Resort! The adults will find they can relax and let go of all their troubles and stresses of every day life.

Our large private sandy beach has a westerly view of Herendeene Lake. The water temperature usually hits 70 degrees by Memorial Day and quickly warms to the upper 70’s during the summer months. The lake is good for swimming and we’ve had no reports of swimmer’s itch. There’s a good chance you’ll see eagles, loons, blue heron, turkeys and possibly our resident otter.

We have 8 very nice Jackson Riviera kayaks for our guests use at no charge. These kayaks are 11’4″ with high backs for comfort and are very easy to use. The kayaks are rated for up to 300 pounds. We also have 2 stand up paddle boards.

The water trampoline is a big hit for kids of all ages! There are four fishing boats and two canoes for our guests’ use. Fishermen will catch mostly large mouth bass, blue gill and perch. A fishing license is required and there is public access to the lake just south of the resort. Herendeene Lake is a “no wake” lake which means you can have a motor but leave no wake. The lake is mostly undeveloped and being on the water is truly an up north experience.

Our shared fire pit will be one of the highlights of your vacation at Sleeping Bear Resort. The sunsets are very nice, the stars are plentiful and best of all, we supply all your firewood at no charge.

There are several viewing platforms and seating arrangements located around the resort with fantastic views of the lake.

The basketball hoop is located near the cabins and the shuffleboard court has an awesome view of Lake Herendeene Lake.
